Worth the price! This opener arrived on time with everything (except tools) to install. The instruction book was clear with text information, but the illustrations, in some cases, were less than clear. Despite that, I was able to complete installation in about 2 1/2 hours on my own, and the operational setup was very easy. The door opener works great, and is reasonably quiet. The only other issue is that of the two included car remotes, only one works. I am still waiting on a response from Chamberlain on that.

Solid Low-Cost, No-Frill Option I ordered the Chamberlain PD512 to replace a 20 year old Craftsman unit that was also a 1/2HP opener. Installation was straightforward. I completely uninstalled the old opener and used the parts that came with the PD512 but everything was installed in the same place as the old parts. The included wire for the button was about 6′-8′ too short for me so I extended it with some wire from my old unit. Not a big deal and this depends on the size of the garage and how the wire is run.

Worth it, easy install, reasonably quiet chain drive. Install straightforward. More quiet than the one it replaced from the 90s. Easy instructions. Did OK with existing door bracket, and the sensor brackets were a bit weird to figure out. Understandable, since they can be mounted five different ways for different doors. Sensors pre-wired, so you can’t tell if you put them in wrong until after they’re powered up, and then you can’t swap them to the other side. Reciever goes on the shaded side of the door, as I have a problem with the setting sun shining into the sensor now.Packaging was good, center rail is sectional. I used an old 2×4 to mallet them together without damage instead of a hammer.
